B-MAX GP Sydney Official Rules
These rules are based off the B-Max GP 4.0 rules as shown here also the Tamiya Stock Class Rules here

1. Competition Car & Body
Chassis: Must be genuine Tamiya. No hollowing, cutting, or homemade chassis.
Body: Plastic, Polycarbonate, or PET bodies are allowed. We allow the Jiepen AE86 body to be used. Also, non-tamiya bodies can be approved just show it to the race committee on race day.
Polycarbonate/PET must be cut along the specified instruction lines.
Must be secured with Tamiya body catches at both front and rear.
Prohibited: Wings/Driver dolls must be installed if part of the kit. Unpainted bodies or bodies without stickers are prohibited.
Modifications: Cutting is only permitted to prevent interference with the chassis/parts (within 3mm of the interfering part).
2. Permitted Modifications (The "Yes" List)
Screws & Holes: * 2mm expansion of standard screw holes.
Through-hole processing of standard screw holes.
Countersinking is permitted for all screw holes.
Plates & Rollers: * Tapering edges of FRP/Carbon plates.
Strengthening plates with instant adhesive.
Bonding multiple plates together.
Roller coloring and replacement of bearings with Tamiya-standard bearings.
Mass Dampers: * Coloring is allowed.
Hanging arrangements below the plate are permitted.
Multiple dampers on one screw may be joined with multi-tape.
Specific Sets:
Use of Mass Damper Set w/ Ball Connectors (15478 or 95180) is permitted.
Use of Multi Brake Set or Rear Skid Roller Set (15399 or 15520) is permitted.
Use of Roller Angle Adjuster Plate Set (15373) is permitted.
Use of front or rear Sliding dampers without bottom plate
Consumables: * Cutting Tamiya brake sponges, multi-tape, or rubber pipes.
Adhering tires to wheels.
3. Prohibited Modifications (The "No" List)
No Part Processing: Changing the shape of any part (other than the body for clearance) is prohibited.
No processing of metal parts (screws, shafts, rollers).
No gear processing or fixing gears to shafts with adhesive.
No tire modification (wear reducing diameter by >1mm is considered illegal processing).
No Scrap Materials: Use of runners, polycarbonate scraps, or parts from a Mini 4WD catcher is prohibited.
No Custom Gimmicks: Swing-type vibration systems (Lanterns, Hikuo, Norio, Catcher Dampers, etc.) are prohibited. Only vertical movement mass dampers on fixed screws are allowed.
Safety: Protruding screws/shafts must be protected by rubber tubes or ball poles.
4. Motor & Battery
Motor: All Tamiya motors are permitted for this event (No Motor Limit). Disassembling motors for parts is strictly prohibited.
Battery: Must be installed in the direction specified by the chassis. Reverse use of the chassis is prohibited. Battery holders must be used as instructed (no soldering or double-layering).
5. Usable Machine Types
Only Laser Mini 4WD, Mini 4WD REV, Mini 4WD PRO, Racing Mini 4WD, Super Mini 4WD, Fully-Cowled Mini 4WD, Aero Mini 4WD, Mighty Mini 4WD, R/C Mini 4WD, and Truckin' Mini 4WD machines are permitted. Further restrictions on machine types may be possible depending on the race event or race class.
6. Machine Assembly
All machines must be four-wheel drive. Modifications that result in rear-wheel or front-wheel drive are prohibited. Bodies should have stickers applied or be painted, and must be securely attached to the chassis.
Please be warned that bodies which are particularly small, or those which it is difficult to check are painted or have stickers applied, may be prohibited. Home-made bodies are prohibited. The following are not recognized as bodies: cut-off sections from clear bodies, etc.; wing only. All machines must go through car inspection and machines that do not pass inspection cannot participate in the race. As a general rule, machines must be assembled by the racer. Some exceptions may be applied. Please ask Race Officials.
7. Dimensions

All machines must have a 4WD setup and will be subject to the same measuring system as shown below.
• Maximum Car Width: Under 105mm
• Overall Car Height: Under 70mm
• Overall Car Length: Under 165mm
• Minimum Ground Clearance: At least 1mm
• Minimum Car Weight (including batteries and motor): At least 90g
• Rollers: There is no limit on the amount of rollers that can be used.
Winning: For a car to win all four wheels must cross the finish line upright and must complete the race with no part falling off.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I use the Ball Connector Mass Damper (15478 / 95180)? A: Yes, these specific sets are permitted under our B-MAX 4.0 rules.
Q: What happens if my body falls off during a race? A: If the body becomes detached during the heat, you will be disqualified for that run. Ensure your Tamiya body catches are secure.
Q: Can I use "Clone" parts? A: No. Only genuine Tamiya Mini 4WD, R/C 4WD, and Dangun parts are permitted.
Q: Will you use my email for newsletters? A: No. As per our Sydney event policy, your email is used only for race-day logistics and registration.
