Box Stock Class: Rules & Regulations
Published

Only genuine Tamiya cars and parts are permitted.
Single Kit Build (Brand New Kits): Your entry must be a complete build from a single Mini 4WD kit. Mixing and matching parts from different kits (e.g., swapping a chassis or rollers from another box) is strictly prohibited. KIT Restoration is allowed as long as the parts came from the same KIT variant
Exception: Kits previously modified can be restored to stock.
Motor Specifications: Only the standard Tamiya Type 130 motor (Stock Motor) is permitted. This includes motors with white or blue end caps.
Special Kits: Starter Kits and EVO Kits are permitted only if they use the stock motor and have no additional upgrade plates or parts attached.
Animal/Tuned Kits: Kits that originally include "Tuned" motors (e.g., Animal series kits) are allowed, provided the motor is replaced with a standard Type 130 stock motor.
Build Integrity: All kits must be assembled exactly as per the provided instruction manual.
Tire & Wheel Security: The use of double-sided adhesive tape or glue to secure wheels to the axles or tires to the wheels is prohibited.
Aesthetics: Plain bodies/cowls are not permitted. To be race-ready, the kit-included stickers must be applied, or the body must be painted.
Identification: The racer’s name must be clearly affixed to the bottom of the chassis for identification.
No Upgrades: The use of any Tune-Up, Grade-Up, or Upgrade parts is strictly prohibited.
No Modifications: Any modification to the kit—including bending screws, thinning/shaving parts, or reinforcing the chassis—is prohibited.
Note: If a car is damaged during the finals (e.g., quarter-finals onwards), the racer will be granted a few minutes for emergency repairs (gluing). The car must be retired immediately following the conclusion of that race.
Battery Regulations: Only AA Alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries are permitted. Batteries with tampered, torn, or removed wraps/skins are prohibited for safety.
Winning: For a car to win all four wheels must cross the finish line upright and must complete the race with no part falling off.
